John and John became best friends through their training and travels with gymnastics. They have combined their passion for the sport and their desire to give back to younger gymnasts by joining forces for Flip Fest.
It was an exciting event finals, with a alot of great routines and a unfortunately quite a few mistakes as well. The Americans had a good night winning 3 medals. The women won silver on vault, Alicia Sacramone, and a silver on bars, Nastia Liukin. The men got their first medal when Alexander Artemev won the bronze. Also, our Flip Fest special guest, Jordan Jotchev, won his 17th world medal when he took the silver on rings. It must have been all that fishing that he did last summer, It must have gotten his upper body in shape.
The weather here has been aweful. It's raining again today and there is not much to see except the gymnastics meet. Today is the last day of competition with finals on vault, parallel bars and high bar for men and beam and floor for women. The American women have two athletes competing on floor and that is the only event where the U.S. will be represented tonight. I will give you one more update before Sunday when I leave Denmark to go to Iceland.
